The audience

http://www.theguardian.com/stage/theatreblog/2013/sep/09/what-makes-good-theatre-audience

The article I've read is about theater, because these summary must be related to our career, but this time I wasn't interested in searching an article that talks about those who works directly in my area, I mean designer, directors, actors... This time I prefer to tackle these theme from the other side, from those who receive our work, and full it with meaning and perspective.

In the new I had read, that actually is almost like a blog, Lyn Gardner, the woman who wrote the article, made an approach to the spectator figure, trying to figure out wich are the features of a good audience.

She made an emphasis in the idea that even when it's important that an audience can provide a show with energy, is also important that these attitude wasn't an overreaction, because it might make the others feel uncomfortable.

Also seems to be an important thing that the audience turn off their cellphones and avoid any behavior that incite distraction in others making annoying noises, like coughing.
A good audience is the one that can be supporting, always paying attention with a real interest. Is the one who is conscience about the fact that a complete performance is just ready when all of his parts are working in harmony, enjoying the time they create together, so is really an important thing that the attitude of everyone who constitute the audience can be a response of respect and clarity about what we are doing from our chair inside the theater, reflected in a good and committed behavior.

  1. Yep , is really important the acceptance of the role of each participant inside the performance . The audience should know about the theatre artifice and the actor artifice.
Is interesting when the audience is an participant into the theatral action.. . generate a new dialogue, I think.. But always that the spectator want do it.
